Funeral services for Lawrence E. Ijames, 32, who was killed in a motorcycle accident in Newport News, Virginia, Friday afternoon, February 19th, 1943, were conducted Monday morning, February 22nd at 11 a.m. from the Peoples Tabernacle on the Thomasville Road. The services were in charge of the pastor, Rev. G.M. Allison, and Rev. A.L. McGhee, pastor of the Fairmont Baptist Church.
Pallbearers were Roy Hedrick, Hubert Williard, Oscar Lee, Thurman Cook, Basil Hussey and Walter Trotter.Interment was made in Pleasant Grove Cemetery.High Point Enterprise--February 1943
