Funeral services for Ella “Josie” Hubler Swearengin will be held at 2:00 p.m. Thursday, January 5, 2017 at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints in Gore, OK with Lynn Hubler officiating.

Pallbearers will be Bill Swearengin, Patrick Swearengin, Hyrum Wacaster, Troy Spears Sr., Johnny Tschetter, and Benjamin Tschetter. Great- grandsons will serve as honorary pallbearers.

Burial will be in Stevenson Cemetery in Gum Springs under the direction of Lescher- Millsap Funeral Service of Webbers Falls, OK.

Ella was born August 13, 1925 in Gore, OK, the daughter of Ella Josephine (Powell) Hubler and Peter Penrose Hubler and died Saturday, December 31, 2016 at her home.

On July 30, 1941 she married Eugene Swearengin in Gore, OK.

She was always a happy lady, who worked to get her GED, cooked at all the local schools, and Fin and Feather. Ella enjoyed working in her church where she served as a missionary for Christ in 1988 and also served at the Dallas Temple Mission. She was Primary President for 17 years.

Ella is survived by one daughter, Jotalee (Swearengin) Spears and husband, Troy Spears Sr., of San Antonio, TX; two sons, Bill Swearengin and wife, Earlene of Manchester, Kentucky, Patrick Swearengin and wife, Reveena, of Poteau, OK: sixteen grandchildren, Sheila Tschetter, Troy Spears Jr., Audra Steele, Annette Tatum, Angel Wilcox, Hyrum Wacaster, Tony Swearengin, Carla Swearengin, Deann Williams, Jackie Swearengin Jr., Shane Swearengin, DeLacey Swearengin, Krystal Shamblin, Marshall Swearengin, Austin Shook, and Randall Dunn; 36 great grandchildren; 22 great-great grandchildren; siblings Mary Mannon, Francis and husband Harold Sumpter, Frank Hubler, and wife Bernie, Lynn Hubler and wife, Irma, Parley Hubler, and wife, Nettie.

Ella was preceded in death by her parents; five children, Carl Swearengin, Barbara Wacaster, Jimmy Leon Swearengin, Jackie Swearengin Sr., Johnny Ray Swearengin; six siblings, Anna Mae Hubler, Kennie Hubler, George Hubler, John Maroni Hubler, Howard Douglas Hubler, and Hazel I Warren; three grandchildren, Jimmy Dean Spears Sr., Felicia Lynn Swearengin, and Allen Murray; numerous nieces, cousins, and friends.
