Peter Penrose Hubler Jr. left this life on Wednesday, February 10, 2016 at the age of 92 years, 6 months, and 18 days. He was born on July 23, 1923 to Peter Penrose Hubler Sr. and Ella Josephine Powell. Penrose was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints and throughout the years diligently and faithfully fulfilled various callings. He was Branch President for 13 years and served a two-year Stake Mission in Talihina, Oklahoma with his wife Jewell. He served in the Army during World War II. He was wounded in battle in November 1944 in Germany and was awarded the Purple Heart. He was honorably discharged in November 1945. He worked hard to provide for his family and was an active member of the Gum Springs community, even serving on the school board for many years. He was a maintenance worker at OG&E for a short time and retired from the Corps of Engineers Tenkiller Project Office after more than 30 years of service. He was a lifelong Rancher and Cowboy and enjoyed playing the guitar and singing songs. He never met a stranger and was a friend to everyone. He is preceded in death by his parents; 2 sisters, Annie Mae Kennie and Hazel Warren; 3 brothers, George Hubler, John Hubler, and Howard Hubler; and 2 sons, Travis Hubler and Darrell Hubler. Funeral Services will be held Saturday, February 13, 2016 at 1 PM at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints in Gore, OK under the direction of Hibbs Funeral Home, followed by internment at Stevenson Cemetery. He will be laid to rest within 200 feet from where he was born.Rt. 1 Box 159
