Mr. Joseph Albert Allen, 79 years old, of 6701 West Orell Rd, Valley Station, KY, formerly of Meade County, died suddenly Wednesday, January 19, 1972, at Sts. Mary & Elizabeth Hospital, Louisville, KY. He was born in Meade Co., KY April 24, 1892, a son of the late Barney Allen and Anna Isabell Hardin Allen. He was a retired farmer. He is survived by 18 children, Mrs. Mike (Beatrice) Hardesty, of Payneville, Mrs. Lon (Catherine) Thomas Jr., Mrs. Jay (Mary) Cain, Mrs. Marvin (Velma) Hall, Mrs. Eddie (Rita) Penn, all of Brandenburg, Mrs. Nellie Warren, Mrs. Connie (Wanda) Branson, Mrs. Joe (Sherry) Farrow, Mrs. Florene Basham, and Louis Allen all of Valley Station, KY, Jessie Allen and Chester Allen of Guston, Raymond Allen, Shepherdsville; Everett Allen and Jimmy Allen of West Point, and Darold Allen of Ekron, Joseph Herbert Allen, Louisville, and Rufus Allen of Irvington; a stepdaughter, Mrs. Arlie (Bessie) Kendall, Shepherdsville; 2 sisters, Mrs. Frank (Florence) Brown.
