Melvin McCue, Retired Farmer. Melvin McCue, 77, of 28 Jackson street, a retired farmer, died Tuesday at 2:3-0 a.m. at his home after an illness of several months. He had been in failing health several years and seriously ill six months. Mr. McCue was born in the town of Martinsburg, Oct 22, 1885, a son of Michael and Elizabeth McConville [sic] McCue. He had been a farmer in the Martinsburg area during his adult life. He retired in 1956 and moved to Lowville. He married Ella Meyer Feb., 5, 1914, in Lowville with Rev. J. Morris Evans performing the ceremony. Mr. McCue was a member of Trinity Episcopal Church and a former vestryman. He was a member of Lowville Grange adn a former director and treasurer or the Lowville Producers Dairy Co-operative. Besides his wife, he is survived by five daughters, Mrs. James (Mary) Kelly, Mrs. Raymond (Anna) Gordon, Mrs. Arthur (Doris) Stanton, Mrs. Chester (Shirley) Adydan, all of Lowville; Mrs. Donald (Sarah) Tiffany, Glenfield; three sons, Robert, Hicksville, Paul, Rochester; and John, Lowville; a sister, Mrs. Arthur (Gertrude) Quilty, Lowville, 27 grandchildren and one great-grandchild. The funeral was held today at 2pm in Trinity Episcopal church, with Rev. Arnold J Petersen, rector, officiating. Burial will be in Lowville Rural Cemetery.
