Her parents & family moved to Findlay, Ohio in the 1840's. She married John Murray 17 June 1852 Findley, Ohio. The young family of four moved from Hancock Co., Ohio to Iowa about 1855 in a Covered wagon along with farm implements & blacksmith tools. The bought 360 acres near Derby, Iowa where the lived for the next 40 years, raising ten children.
She was the dau. of William Savington & Catherine Virginia (Ripley) Birckhead.
