Services for O. B. Black of R.R. 6, Springfield, owner and operator of Black Garbage Disposal Co., will be at 1 p.m. Friday at Staab Funeral Home. Lt. William Cropp will officiate and burial will be in Oak Ridge Cemetery.

Mr. Black, 82, died at 7 p.m. Tuesday at St. john;s Hospital, following an illness of one year.

He was born in Sangamon County, the son of William and Sarah Balden Black. On April 17, 1922, he was married to Harriett Du Pont. He was preceded in death by two daughters, Viola and Nellie Black.

Surviving are his wife, Harriett; seven daughters, Mrs. Eva M. Fink, Mrs. Jennie A. Forsyth, Mrs. Lorain Bullard and Mrs. Eileen Wilson all of Springfield, Mrs. Clara Slane of Biloxi, Miss., Mrs. Fern Burnett of Cantrall, and Mrs. Mildred Staten of Caro, Mich.; four sons, Orbra J. of Petersburg, Paul and Harold Black, both of Santa Ana, Calif., and Edward of Springfield; 33 grandchildren; 19 great-grandchildren; and one sister, Mrs. Bessie Duey of Springfield; several nieces and nephews.
