Odessa - Billy "Bill" Fred Kite, age 78, passed away Sunday, November 5, 2006 at his residence.

He was born June 6, 1928 to George and Dell Kite in Shallowater, Texas. He moved to Odessa in 1946. He served in the United States Army from 1954 to 1956. He was employed as an oilfield tank builder in Odessa.

Bill married Dorothy Goff on April 13, 1972, in Odessa. They were married for 31 years.

Bill was preceded in death by his wife, four brothers; Lacy Kite, Larry Kite, L. D. Kite, and Johnny Kite, five sisters; Zora McPherson, Josie B. Kite, Glocy White, Gladys Peters, and Janic Wynell Kite.

Survivors include two sisters; Nelta Macy and husband Myron of Weatherford and Hily Savage and husband Jack of Abilene, a daughter, Candy Knightstep and Glen Lawson of Odessa, grandchildren, Nova and Les Montgomery, Cyrstal Bell, Cory and Cody Lawson, great-grandchildren, Shelbi and Austyn Montgomery and Nathan Cave.

Graveside service is scheduled for 3:30 p.m. Wednesday, November 8, 2006 at Sunset Memorial Gardens with Rev. Jimmy Braswell officiating.
Services entrusted to Hubbard-Kelly Funeral Home.
