Walter Wirt Bonner, son of Wirt Knox Bonner and Mattie Weaver, was born at Bonnerville, Freestone Co., TX on 3 August 1926. During World War II, he servied in the U. S. Navy and received four bars and three stars for service in the Pacific Theater. He married Mary Kathryn McAdams on 3 April 1948. They made their home in Teague, Freestone Co., TX where Walter manged the Teague Lumberyard. Walter and Mary were parents of three children: Vicky Margo; Danny Weldon; Tambra Lee. He was a member of the Rotary Club and the Presbyterian Church. Walter Wirt Bonner died in Teague, Freestone Co., TX on 26 August 1989.
