Royal P. Cobb was a S/O Capt.Willard and Amy Allen Cobb both of Rutland Vermont. In 1818 The family traveled west to the newly opened frontier of Indiana.they settled in Decatur county where our subject grew to manhood. In 1842 Royal Cobb married to Ruth Ann Howard. In 1844 Willard and family moved into Iowa and settled. By 1850 Royal with family had traveled to Marion county Missouri and settled in Hannibal.. Royal was a Lawyer, later elected County Attorney handeling Military claims, and in 1861 he was elected Judge in Hannibal. They had a large family that all lived in the Marion co area.
