Otis Tate Adrian, 85, passed away on July 31, 2016, at the Bent County Memorial Nursing Home in Las Animas. He was born on July 17, 1931, in Colorado City, Texas to Matthew Lawrence and Tinie Belle (Copeland) Adrian. He married Jennie R. Moore in Prescott, Arizona.

Otis served in the United States Air Force. His hobbies throughout his life have been skiing, roping, riding horses and traveling. He always wanted to be a cowboy and was, his entire life along with other jobs such as construction and mining supply business. As an adult he lived in Colorado City, Texas; Prescott, Arizona; Aspen, Colorado; Salida, Colorado and Guffy, Colorado. He has traveled to Mexico, Hawaii, Korea, and seven countries in Europe.

He is survived by his wife, Jennie of the La Junta home; son, Rusty (Wendy) Adrian of La Junta; daughter, Audra Jo Adrian of Elbert, Colorado; grandchildren, Wilson Adrian, Shauna Adrian, Tate Adrian, and Lavender Grace Adrian; great-grandchildren, Shane, Karley, Emma, and Sophie; sister, Ruby Faye Jarrett of Colorado City, Texas; many nieces and nephews also survive. He was preceded in death by his parents, and many siblings.

Funeral services will be held on Thursday, Aug. 4, 2016, at 10 a.m. at the Church of Christ with Evangelists Terry Smalling and Danny Aragon officiating. Graveside service will follow at the Lakeside Cemetery in Canon City, Colorado, at 2:30 p.m. Visitation will be held on Wednesday, Aug. 3, 2016, from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. at Peacock Memorial Chapel.

In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to the Church of Christ, 921 Cimarron Ave., La Junta, CO 81050, direct or through the funeral home.
