Leslie F. "Les" Henderson

Leslie F. "Les" Henderson, 83, of Rock Springs, passed away Monday, January 11, 2016. A resident of Rock Springs, Wyoming for the past 62 years and former resident of Star Valley, Wyoming, Mr. Henderson died following a brief illness.

He was born March 10, 1932 in Smoot, Wyoming, the son of the late Thomas Wallace Henderson and Katherine Stumpp Henderson.

Mr. Henderson attended schools in Star Valley, Wyoming and was a graduate of the Star Valley High School. He attended Brigham Young University and graduated with a Bachelor's degree in Accounting.

He married Mary Lou Pemberton on September 14, 1958, in Rock Springs, Wyoming.

Mr. Henderson was a United States Army Veteran of The Korean War serving in Japan and Korea.

He was a partner in Henderson, Stevens and Associates as a Certified Public Accountant for forty-one years and retired in 2000.

Mr. Henderson was a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants, Lion's Club, a Treasurer for The Jim Bridger Council for Boy Scouts of America, he served a term on the Wyoming Game and Fish Commission and he served on the Board of Directors for the Union Telephone.

His interests were Backpacking, Target Shooting and Skiing.

Survivors include his wife Mary Lou Henderson of Rock Springs, one son Robert and wife Melanie of Sandy, Utah, two daughters; Cindy Henderson of Richland, Washington and Laurie and husband David Wesely of Manhattan, Kansas; one sister Leoyce and husband Norville Broadbent of Seattle, Washington; two granddaughters Anya Wesely and Lauren Wesely both of Manhattan, Kansas; several nieces and nephews also survive.

He was preceded in death by his parents, three brothers; Dewey Henderson, Carl Henderson and Loren Lee Henderson, five sisters; Bessie Davis, Millie Henderson, Mable Baird, May Kingston and Eva McCombs.

Funeral services will be conducted Friday, January 15, 2016 at the First United Methodist Church, 1515 Edgar Street, Rock Springs, Wyoming. Friends may call at the church one hour prior to service.
