Sweetwater - George W. Boyd, 76, lifetime Nolan County resident and well-known Sweetwater Lake area farmer and rancher, died at 10:25 p.m. Tuesday in Simmons Memorial Hospital.
Funeral will be held at 4 p.m. Saturday in Patterson Chapel of Memories with Paul Rogers, minister of Fourth and Elm St. Church of Christ, officiating. Burial will be in Coffee Cemetery near Lake Sweetwater.
Born Dec. 12, 1887, he married May Brown at Eskota on Jan. 15, 1911. He was the son of the late Mr. and Mrs. W. H. Boyd, pioneers here.
Surviving are his wife; three daughters, Mrs. J. D. (Dorothy) Wallace and Mrs. W. R. (Louise) Neal of Sweetwater, and Mrs. Joe (Margaret Jo) Midkiff of Midland; two sons, George W. , Jr. of Fort Leonard Wood, Mo. and Hollis of Hurst; four brothers, Jesse of Petersburg, John of Mertzon, Bill of Sweetwater, and Joe of St. Louis; three sisters, Mrs. Lou Brown of Prescott, Ariz., Mrs. Frances Rasberry of Fort Worth and Mrs. Irene Witt of Long Beach, Calif.
Pallbearers will be Charles Roden, Hill Bolin, Jimmy Shilling, Otto Martin, Roy Stroman and Jimmy Ronemus.
