Ruth was born in Somerset, Kentucky on Sunday, January 1st, 1928, daughter of the late Mitchel and Beatrice Wesley Butt.
Ruth was survived by one daughter, Debra Sue "Debby" (and Darrell) Lyons; one sister-in-law, Phyllis Butt; three nieces, Michelle Godbey, Rhonda (and Eddie) Baker, and Melanie (and Jim) Massa; three great nephews, Christopher Massa, Benjamin Massa, and Houston Baker; and a host of other family and friends who mourn her passing.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Mitchel Butt, who departed this life on December 13th, 1973 and Beatrice Butt, who departed this life on August 24th, 1980; one brother, Rondal G. Butt, who departed this life on August 21st, 2015; and one sister, Betty Elizabeth Godbey, who departed this life on January 16th, 2014.
Visitations were held after 5:00 p.m. on Wednesday, May 11th, 2016 at the Lake Cumberland Funeral Home in Somerset, Kentucky.
Funeral services were held at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, May 12th, 2016 in the Chapel of the Lake Cumberland Funeral Home with Brother David Bullock officiating.
Burial followed in the Science Hill Cemetery.
