He was 68* years old and was born in Germany, coming to this country when a young man. He is survived by seven children:

Three brothers and a sister also survive:
Jacob Diehl, on the Freeburg road
William Diehl, Swansea
Phillip Diehl, Greenville, Ill.
Mrs. Hollerbach
Mr. Diehl was a cooper by trade. He was married to Katherine Heisner of St. Louis in 1871. A son, Phillip Diehl, died in St. Louis two weeks ago.
The funeral will be held Sunday afternoon at 2 o'clock from the former residence on Washington street. The interment will be made in Walnut Hill.
