Mr. Diehl was born on November 30, 1875, and was a son of the late Mr. and Mrs. Adam Diehl. His wife, the former Mathilda Magin, whom he married in Belleville [on November 16, 1896], died on March 14, 1917.
Surviving are four sons and three daughters:
Elmer Diehl, of Louisiana
Walter Diehl, of California
Edward Diehl, of California
Wilbert Diehl, of California
Helen, wife of Barney Warkis, Caseyville
Virginia, wife of Leo Leriche, Calif.
Margaret, wife of Mark Anderson, Nameoki
He also leaves two sisters:
Mrs. Robert Henry, East St. Louis
Mrs. Lizzie Armbruster, Calif.
... 14 grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
Funeral will be held at 2 o'clock Wednesday afternoon from the Pete Gaerdner Funeral Home to Walnut Hill Cemetery. Rev. A. E. Reiss, pastor of the Christ Evangelical and Reformed Church, will officiate.
