W.W. Gutshall, 89, former Cumberland county (sic) auditor and school teacher, died Monday night at his home in Carlisle Springs. Funeral, tomorrow, 2 p.m., home. Burial in Kutz's Church Cemetery. Survivors, two sons, Harris R. Gutshall, Carlisle Springs, a member of the county poor board; Robert W. Gutshall, New Kingston; a daughter, Mrs. Peter Schuchman, Carlisle Springs; five grandchildren; four sisters, Mrs. Mary Lutz, Boiling Springs; Mrs. Elizabeth Hosler, Mrs. George Swigert, both of Carlisle, and Mrs. Emma Myers, Carlisle Springs. He taught school for forty years and was a retired farmer. He was a life-long resident of Middlesex township (sic) and resided for the past fifty-six years in the same house. He was a member of the Reformed Church, Carlisle Springs.

W.W. Gutshall

W.W. Gutshall, a well-known former school teacher and father of Harris R. Gutshall, member of the Cumberland County Board of Poor Directors, died at 11 o'clock Monday night at his home in Carlisle Springs. He was aged 89 years.

William Wilson Gutshall was a former county auditor. He taught school for forty years and had engaged in farming. He had been a resident of Middlesex Township all his life and for 56 years resided in the same house. He was a member of the Reformed Church at Carlisle Springs. In politics he was a staunch Democrat and took an intelligent interest in public affairs.

Surviving him are two sons, Harris R., Carlisle Springs, and Robert W. Gutshall, New Kingstown; a daughter, Mrs. Peter Schuchman, Carlisle Springs; five grandchildren; four sisters, Mrs. Mary Lutz, Boiling Springs; Mrs. Elizabeth Hosler and Mrs. George Swigert, both of Carlisle, and Mrs. Emma Myers, Carlisle Springs.

Funeral services will be held at 2 o'clock Thursday from the home with burial in the Kutz Church Cemetery. Friends may call at the home Wednesday night.
