Naomi (Hawkins) Scott, age 74, of Shelby, died Tuesday, March 8, 2016 at her home.

Naomi was born November 13, 1941 in Pike County, KY, the daughter of the late Harlen and Thelma (Gibson) Hawkins. She enjoyed cooking, canning, quilting, and crocheting. She loved spending time at family gatherings and raised her entire family with proper family values. Naomi attended Calvary Baptist Church in Shelby.

Naomi is survived by six children: Thelma (Mark) Ball of Galion, Ruby (Bill) Long of Plymouth, Cathy Feltner of Galion, Johnny Cole of Shelby, Jody (Deanna) Cole of Mansfield, Nadene (Scott) Phelps of Shelby; a step-son: Brian Hawkins of Shelby; a son-in-law: George Allen Feltner of Tiro; 11 grandsons and 7 granddaughters; 11 great grandsons and 16 great granddaughters; 2 brothers and 7 sisters; and many more loved ones. In addition to her parents, she was preceded by: two husbands: Lloyd Claypool and John "Scotty" Scott; 2 brothers; and 2 sisters.

Family and friends are welcome on Thursday, March 10, 2016 any time after 4 PM until the time of the funeral services on Friday, March 11, 2016 at 10 AM all at Plymouth United Methodist Church, 39 Sandusky Street, Plymouth, Ohio 44865. Pastor Steve Schagg, her pastor, will officiate with graveside services at 1:30 PM at Marlborough Cemetery on the corner of County Road 220 (Horseshoe Road) and County Road 221 (Leonardsburg Road) Delaware, Ohio. Care for Naomi and her family is being provided by Bob, Catherine, and Jake at the Turner Funeral Home in Shelby. Memorial contributions may be made to the family.
