GLENDALE. June 1, Mrs. Adelaida Hamilton, 77 years of age, daughter of the late Henry Mellus, the tenth Mayor of Los Angeles, died at her home here today after a brief illness. Funeral arrangements have tentatively been set for 2 p.m. Friday at Memory Chapel of the Jewel City Funeral Home. Burial will be in Evergreen Cemetery. She leaves four daughters, Mrs. Isabel Martin of San Francisco, Mrs. Weta E. Glassell of Hollywood, Mrs. Carmen M. Kinzy of Glendale and Mrs. Harriett C. McFarland of Florida, and four sons, Robert T. Hamilton of New York, B.D. Hamilton of Washington, D.C.; Calhoun M. Hamilton of Los Angeles, and Archie E. Hamilton of San Francisco. Two sisters, Mrs. Elvira Russell and Mrs. Violet Singer, live in Beverly Hills, and another sister Mrs. Gertrude Ledyard in Glendale. Los Angeles Times, June 2, 1932.
