Anita Erulana ("Weta") Mellus was the daughter of Henry Mellus and Anita Felicitas Johnson.

She married William Minns Tileston, son of William Tileston and Mary Bradford Tree, on November 13, 1869, in Los Angeles County, California; they were married until his death on April 22, 1880, in New York, where they resided. The couple had four children, three sons and one daughter, namely:

Robert Tileston (1870-1964),
Henry Mellus Tileston (1872-1923),
Thomas Tileston (1875-1920), and
Frances Potter (Tileston) Clucas (1879-1946).

Services will be held Wednesday afternoon at 2 o'clock in Garrett Brothers' Mortuary, 921 Venice Boulevard."

On her death certificate, Mrs. Tileston was listed by her nickname, Weta, rather than by her given name, Anita. The informant on the death certificate, "Mrs. Glassell", was Mrs. Tileston's niece, Weta Gertrude (Hamilton) Glassell (1881-1954), daughter of Samuel and Adelaida (Mellus) Hamilton and former wife of Hugh Glassell.

Three daughters of Henry Mellus and Anita Felicitas Johnson, namely Anita Erulana ("Weta") (Mellus) Tileston, Isabella Guirado ("Bella") (Mellus) Haverstick, and Adelaida Elena ("Lola") (Mellus) Hamilton, were buried together at Evergreen Cemetery in Section F, Lot R301.
