AFTON WOMAN PASSES AWAY
Mrs. Barbara Burns of Afton died at her home Monday from angina pectoris. She made her home with her brother Albert Lorentz. She came to Afton seven years ago.
She was a widow. She was born in Canada 81 years ago.
Afton friends are coming tonight to say Rosary at the Tuttle Funeral Home. Funeral services willl be held Thursday at St. Monica's church, Afton, at 9 a.m. Burial will be in Mt. Carmel Cemetery, Gaylord.
OBITUARY
Barbara Lorentz was born December 4, 1862 in Bruce County, Canada and came to Michigan at the age of 16, was married to James Burns who preceeded her in death twenty-seven years ago, to this union were born two daughters who also have preceded her in death.
Mrs. Burns leaves to mourn their loss, one brother, Albert Lorentz of Afton; two sisters, Agnes Welch of Saugatuck, Michigan and Eva Richey of Clio, Michigan, four grandsons and a host of friends. Died this 17th day of July 1944 at the age of 81 years, 7 months and 13 days.
Rosary was said Wednesday evening at the Tuttle Funeral Home.
Services were held at St. Monica's Church at Afton at 9:00 a.m. Burial at Gaylord, her former home.
