S. M. "Skeet" Markham Sr., 98, died Thursday, April 20, 1995, at the Anderson Care Center in Anderson.
He was born Feb. 28, 1898, west of Red Bluff in the former town of Lowrey.
He was a 50-year member of the Masonic Lodge and a lifelong Northern California lumberman. He started his lumber career with the Stockton Box Company at the age of 18. He was the former owner and operator of the Anderson Moulding Company in Anderson.
His hobbies included baseball, playing bridge, golf, hunting and fishing.
His wife Neva died in 1991, He is survived by his sons, Stanley Jr. of Anderson and Larry "Budd" of Graeagle; six grandchild, great grandchildren and one great great grandchild.
A private family service will be held at a later date. Interment will be in the family plot at the Beckworth Cemetery in Beckworth. Arrangements are under the direction of the Neptune Society of Chico.
