Margaret Ellen Kirk, Route 2, Honey Grove, died at 9:15 a.m. Tuesday, October 10, 1967, in Bonham hospital following a four and one-half months illness.
A native of Honey Grove, Mrs. Kirk was born March 31, 1890, daughter of James M. Cunningham and Martha Alice Barrett Cunningham.
She was married to W.H. Kirk, Jr., on June 10, 1906, in a ceremony in the Rock Point Methodist Church, south of Honey Groove. He preceded her in death on August 30, 1958.
Mrs. Kirk was a member of the McKenzie Methodist Church.
The funeral Wednesday afternoon at 3:00 o'clock was in the Cooper-Sorrells Chapel. Officiants were the Rev. James Heflin, pastor of the Dial Baptist Church and the Rev. John Hawkins, McKenzie Methodist, pastor. Interment was in Oakwood Cemetery under the direction of Cooper-Sorrells.
Grandsons were named pallbearers.
Survivors include four daughters, Mrs. T.B. Tarver, Irving, Mrs. Virgie Smith and Mrs. G.C. Merrell, Jr. of Honey Grove and Mrs. A.L. Cunningham of Carrollton; eight grandchildren; three great-granddaughters and one greaat-grandson.
Other survivors include a sister, Mrs. John Rieves of Honey Grove; two half-brothers, Harvey Cunningham of Missouri and LeRoy Cunningham of Durant, Oklahoma; and two half-sisters, Mrs. Jimmy Pascal and Mrs. Glen Fennell, both of Honey Grove.
