Mary Elva Merrell, 81, of 200 Spring St. in Honey Grove died Saturday, April 16, 1994, in Northeast Medical Center in Bonham.
Graveside services will be held at 4 p.m. Sunday at Oakwood Cemetery in Honey Grove with the Rev. Dan Boyd officiating. Cooper-Sorrells Funeral Home has charge of arrangements.
Mrs. Merrell was born Aug. 17, 1912, in Dial, a daughter of William Harrison and Ellen Cunningham Kirk.
She married G. C. Merrell Jr. on March 4, 1947, in Bonham.
She was a member of McKenzie United Methodist Church.
She is survived by her husband; a son, Tom Merrell of Honey Grove; three sisters, Myrtle Lee Tarver of Irving, Virgie Smith of Honey Grove and Lucille Campbell of Dial; a grandson, Charlie Merrell of Honey Grove; and several nieces and nephews.

She was a homemaker and a member of the McKenzie United Methodist Church.
Mrs. Merrell is survived by her husband, G. C. Merrell of the home; a son, Tom Merrell of Honey Grove; three sisters, Myrtle Lee Tarver of Irving; Virgie Smith of Honey Grove and Lucille Campbell of Dial; a grandson, Charlie Merrell of Honey Grove, along with several nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be from 7 - 8 p.m. Saturday, April 16 at the residence under the direction of Cooper-Sorrells Funeral Home in Honey Grove.
