Last Rites Held For Mrs. Bankhead

Funeral services for Mrs. Annie Bessie Bankhead of Route 2, Honey Grove, were held at the First Baptist Church, at 4:00 o'clock Friday afternoon, July 21. Officiants at the last rites were the Rev. Larry Baker and Willie Mann, Church of Christ minister. Cooper-Sorrells Funeral Home made interment in Oakwood Cemetery.

Pallbearers were W. R. Thurman, W. W. Harris, Johnnie Avery, Frank Wishard, Earl Collins and Frank Boehler.

Mrs. Bankhead died at the Page Nursing Home at 7:40 o'clock Wednesday evening, July 19, 1961 after a ten-week illness.

A native of Honey Grove, Mrs. Bankhead was born August 2, 1899. Her parents were the late James M. Cunningham.

She was married to Earnest M. Bankhead on October 6, 1917 and he preceded her in death on June 9, 1956.

She was a member of the McCraw's Chapel Methodist Church.

Survivors include three sons: Raymond Bankhead of Honey Grove; Leonard Bankhead of Houston and Magness Bankhead of Sherman; two sisters, Mrs. George Dibley and Mrs. W. H. Kirk of Honey Grove; two half-brothers, James Cunningham and LeRoy Cunningham of Madill, Okla.; two half-sisters, Mrs. Glen Fennell and Mrs. Jimmy Pascal of Honey Grove; and two grandchildren.
