He was born in Millwood and had lived most of his life in Ware County. He retired from GATX after 37 ½ years and was their oldest employee and had more seniority than anyone at the time of his retirement. He was also an avid fisherman and gardner.
He was a member of Camp Branch Church of God of Prophecy. He became an ordained minister in the Church of God of Prophecy and graduated from Bible Training Institute in Cleveland, TN.
Rev. Morgan was a son of the late David Archie Morgan and Ada Bennett Morgan.
He is survived by his wife, Earnestine Cox Morgan of Manor; a daughter, Sandra Morgan of Manor; a son, Rev. Bruce A. Morgan (Missy) of Folkston; three grandchildren, Ashlea Smith (Kevin), Kaitlyn Morgan, and Jacob Morgan; one great grandson, Waylon Smith; and numerous nieces and nephews.
A funeral service will be held 3:00 p.m. Saturday (August 29, 2015) at Camp Branch Church of God of Prophecy. Burial will follow in Camp Branch Cemetery.
The family will be receiving friends Friday evening at Music Funeral Home from 6 until 8 o'clock. Ministers attending the funeral are asked to serve as honorary pallbearers. Sympathy may be expressed by signing the online registry at www.musicfuneralhome.com.
