Robert Feehan

Robert Feehan, 78, of Melrose died March 1, 1988, at Lucas County Memorial Hospital in Chariton. Services will be 10:30 a.m. Saturday at St. Patrick's Catholic Church in Melrose, the Rev. Michael McLaughlin officiating. Burial will be in Mt. Calvary Cemetery in Melrose.

He was born Feb. 28, 1909, in Melrose to James and Anna O'Conner Feehan. A lifetime resident of Melrose, he and been employed by Burlington Railroad and was a member of Maintenance of Way Union and St. Patrick's Catholic Church in Melrose. He married Mildred Scieszinski May 24, 1932 in Melrose.

He is survived by his wife; two daughters, Barbara Ruepke of Chariton and Sister Mary Lucille Feehan of Des Moines; three sons, Bernard of Woodburn, Vince of Melrose and Richard of Newton; 18 grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; a brother, William of East Moline, Ill.; and three sisters, Margaret Murphy of Albia, Helen Sullivan of Melrose and Gertrude Eldge of California.

He was preceded in death by a daughter, Geraldine, and two sons, Don and Bob.

Visitation is open at Gilbert Funeral Home in Albia until 4:30 p.m. Friday, when the body will be taken to the church for a 7:30 p.m. rosary.
