MISS IDA WEBB
DIED HERE
THURSDAY
__________
Funeral Service Attended By
A Large Concourse
Of Friends

The city of Minden and surrounding communities were greatly saddened when the message went out from the home on Thursday afternoon, January 9th, that the sweet gentle spirit of Miss Ida Webb, aged 74 years, 4 months, 26 days, daughter of the late J.Y. Webb and Annie Grigsby Webb had passed away.

For many years Miss Ida Webb had been identified with Minden and every one who knew her, loved her and admired her beautiful christian character, so gentle and so sweet as to form about her an atmosphere as pure as the lillies that were brought by loving hands as a final tribute.

Miss Ida Webb had, since her childhood, been a consistent and devoted member of the Methodist Church. Her firm christian convictions and deep religious feeling were evidenced by her daily walk and conversation.

A large concourse of sorrowing friends gathered on Friday afternoon at three o'clock at the Melle Watkins apartments, which have been her home for the past five years, to attend the funeral rites at which the Rev. Dr. R.H. Wynn, pastor of the First Methodist Church, officiated and followed the bier to the lovely city cemetery for the burial services, the funeral director, G.C. Butler, in charge. Pall bearers were Judge H.C. Drew, Messrs. Clifford Hayes, Bryce Hardeman, Jack Perryman, T.A. Glass and Sam F. Life.

Choice floral offering were brought in loving memory. May God grant to her the peace that passeth all understanding and give the comfort promised to those who mourn.

Miss Ida Webb is survived by three brothers: Mr. Samuel G. Webb, Minden, Mr. J.Y. Webb of Dallas, Texas and Judge R.D. Webb of Shreveport.

"So may it be, perchance when down the tide
Our loved ones vanish, peacefully they glide,
On level seas, nor mark the unknown bound,
We call it death--to them 'tis Life Beyond."
