Funeral services for Hans Peter Hanson of Alexandria were held November 25, 1967 from the Mission Covenant church. The Rev. Justin Dokken officiated. Casket bearers were: Gordon Hanson, Merle Hanson, Philip Hanson, Ronald Hanson, Thomas Hanson and William Hanson. Interment was in Kinkead cemetery.
Hans Peter Hanson was born at Nelson, Minn., August 18, 1874, the son of Hans and Amelia Hanson. He was a life-long resident of this area, having farmed near Nelson until 1935 when he moved to the east side of Lake LeHomme Dieu, where he had lived ever since.
On May 22, 1901, at Alexandria, he was united in marriage to Annie Anderson.
Mr. Hanson died November 23, at the age of 93 years, 3 months and 5 days. Surviving are his wife, Annie; five sons: Clarence of Osakis, William of Alexandria, Wallace of Brainerd, Sidney of LaCrescenta, Calif., and Lambert of Alexandria; three daughters: Mrs. Vivian Carpenter of Glendale, Calif., Miss Ruby Hanson of Alexandria and (Ruth) Mrs. Carl John Anderson of Alexandria. Also surviving are 27 grandchildren, 37 great grandchildren, and one brother, F. W. Hanson of Alexandria. He was preceded in death by a son, a daughter, a brother, five sisters and two grandchildren.
