Lambert D. Hanson was born in Nelson, Minnesota, on June 5, 1920, the son of Hans Peter and Anna (Anderson) Hanson. He attended rural school in Nelson and also Central High School in Alexandria. On April 3, 1941, Lambert was united in marriage to Doris Peterson at the Fahlun Lutheran Church in Nelson. Lambert worked at Land O'Lakes and the Gardonville Telephone Company in Brandon before entering the Military Service during World War II. Upon his Honorable Discharge from the Army Lambert went to work as a floor mechanic for the Anderson Furniture Company and was employed there for several years. He retired in 1973. Lambert was active as a Scoutmaster for the Boy Scouts, an active member of the New Testament Church and a member of the American Legion.
Lambert died on Tuesday, October 4, 1983, at the Douglas County Hospital at the age of 63 years. He is survived by wife: Doris Hanson of Alexandria; sons: Byron Hanson of Alexandria; Keith Hanson and Kent Hanson both of Bremerton, Washington; brothers: William Hanson of Alexandria; Wallace Hanson of Brainerd; Sidney Hanson of Alexandria; sisters: Vivian Hanson of Walnut Creek, California; Mrs. Karl (Ruth) Anderson of Alexandria; grandchildren. Lambert was preceded in death by his parents, sisters Florence and Ruby, brothers, Clarence and Raymond and grandson Shawn.
Funeral services were Saturday, October 8, 1983, at 10:30 a.m. at the Anderson Funeral Chapel, Alexandria, Minnesota with Mike Towers and Pete Reishus officiating. Interment was in Geneva Cemetery, Alexandria, Minnesota. Pallbearers were Walter Anderson, Wayne Kuester, Leland Bennet, Lloyd Peterson, Don Kortie and Monty Hevern. Honorary pallbearers were Harold Kiehne, Floyd Bosek and Mel Simonson. Military honors by the American Legion Post No. 87. Arrangements were with the Anderson Funeral Home.
