For 30 years, Mr. LaFave was a machinist for the Wire Rope Corp., retiring in 1982.
Born in St. Joseph on April 16, 1921, he was a lifelong resident of St. Joseph.
In 1942, he married Gertrude Wandfluh. She survives of the home.
Mr. LaFave was preceded in death by his parents, Jule and Leona; and a brother, Jule.
Additional survivors: three sons, Stephen, Michael D. and Ronald L., all of St. Joseph; seven brothers, Allan, Floyd, Jimmie, Richard, Jerry and Rex, all of St. Joseph, and Clarence, Gower, Mo.; five sisters, Agnes Frakes, Phyllis Dowlen, Allean Major and Victoria Wilson, all of St. Joseph, and Darlene Phelps, Fairfax, Mo.; five grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.
Services: Thursday, Dec. 4, 1997, Heaton-Bowman-Smith & Sidenfaden Chapel, St. Joseph, Mo.
Burial: Memorial Park Cemetery, St. Joseph, MO.
