Lela Stacey, 99, of Junction, died 2:07 p.m. Sunday, April 30, 2006, at Fountain View Nursing Home in Eldorado.

Services will be held 1 p.m. Wednesday, May 3, 2006, at Vickery Funeral Chapel in Shawneetown with the Rev. Roy Dale Orr officiating. Burial will be in Hogan Cemetery. Visitation is 4 to 8 p.m. Tuesday, May 2, 2006, at the funeral home.

She was born Oct. 22, 1906, in Junction to the late William and Lucy (Burroughs) Thompson. On July 17, 1924, she married Herman Stacey, who preceded her in death on Aug. 20, 1991.
She was a homemaker and a member of First Baptist Church of Junction.

She is survived by three daughters, Helen (Al) Fuchs of Harrisburg, Neva Thompson and Emma (Charles "Red") Smith, both of Shawneetown; four sons, James Stacey of Lincoln, Jerry Joe (Judy) Stacey of Carrier Mills, Paul Stacey of Shawneetown and Donald (Gloria) Stacey of Simpson; a sister, Wilma Bradley of Junction; and several grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren.

In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by a son, William Stacey; three daughters, Mildred Cremeens, Wilma K. Stacey and Wanda Burpo; and four sisters, Emma Pearce, Nell Stacey, Alta Bakas and Alma Smith.
