~ Wedding Anniversary October 20, 1921
Grandma died in pawpaw's arms. They said he came in from the field and held her while someone went to get a docotor. She was also with a child, pawpaw never got to meet. Funeral Services for Mrs. Mattie Ermine Brewer Pierce, 40 years of age, were held Saturday, January 9, at the Otter Creek Separate Baptist Church with the Rev. J. S. Bonta in charge. Burial was in the church cemetery. Mrs. Pierce died at her home near Mac Ky, Friday morning. She was a woman of quiet dignity, a devoted mother and wife and spent her life in loving service to others. Those who knew her best loved her most. She was united in marriage to Alvin Roscoe Pierce in October , 1921, and to this union five sons and four daughters were born. Surviving are her husband Roscoe , and children: Gene , Paul, Edward, Geneva, Louise and Juanita. Her Father George Brewer, and two brothers, Jesse Brewer, Brooks Ky, and Leonard Brewer, Hibernia Ky, and a sister Mrs. Lou Vina Brewer Hash, of Hibernia Ky. Pallbearers were : Milton Thompson, Robert Pierce, Henry Pierce, McKinley Underwood, Barney Brewer, and Sam Loyall. **Immediate Cause of Death: Endo-Carditis Due to: Influenza ...
