William Henry Castle, son of William Castle and Malissa Lewis Castle, spent his early years in Woodbury County IA. He was a member of the 52nd Iowa Volunteer Infantry during the period of the Spanish-American War.

At the age of 28 he married Maude Parker on 12 Mar 1902 in Correctionville IA. They had 3 children, Berlen, Blanche, and Odetta. They moved to ID and lived in the Bonners Ferry area for some years.

He died at age 56.
