James W. Leeson, 76, Shelbina, Missouri, died Monday, January 18, at Pleasant Hill Nursing Home due to carcinoma of the urinray bladder diagnosed 14 months prior to his death

Mr. Leeson was born September 11, 1894 in Council Grove, Kansas and is the son of George W. and Cynthia Massey Leeson. He attended school in Savannah.

He was employed as a boiler maker before taking up farming.

He was married November 7, 1943 to Sarah Brown. They moved to Missouri in 1948 from Detroit, Michigan. He is survived by his wife Sarah; a son, James W. Leeson, Jr., of Duluth, Minn; four brothers, Roy of Savannah, Carl and George of St. Joseph, and Tommy of Savannah; two sisters, Rida Abels and Dorothy Coy, both of St. Joseph; six step-children and two grandchildren.

Services were Friday, January 22, at the Davis Funeral Home in Shelbina which the Rev. Allen Barlett officiating. Burial was in the Sunset Slope I.O.O.F. Cemetery.
