As a child, Thomas Billington Nelson and his family were pioneers and traveled across the plains from Nauvoo,Il to the Great Salt Lake Valley in Utah in a covered wagon. Thomas worked hard as a youth keeping watch and doing his share of the work while traveling along the Mormon Trail.
Thomas Billington Nelson married Mary Catherine Welker on 27 March 1853. On 22 June 1867 he married Dorthea Christina Sorenson. Together they had nine children! Orson, Annie, Laura, Rhoda, Nancy, Dortha, George, Mary and Alice.
Thomas and Dorthea lived their lives out in Arizona.
