Born May 17, 1940, in Waynesboro, she was the daughter of the late Chester and Helen (Noll) Bricker. She was a lifelong resident of the Waynesboro area.
She and her husband of over 39 years, Carlos Welch, were married in 1975.
Mrs. Welch worked in the local apple orchards as a young adult. She later worked for various sewing factories and machine shops in the area.
She enjoyed bingo, dancing, puzzles, and camping.
In addition to her husband, she is survived by three children, Kassie Harmon of Waynesboro, Robert Rush of Greencastle, and Larry Rush of Waynesboro; her stepchildren, Donna Welch, Tina Welch, Glenn Welch, and Teresa Welch; nine grandchildren, Kimberly Bentz, Megan Rush, Sara Harmon, Bobby Rush, Casey Harmon, Morgan Burd, Erin Burd, Ellie Rush, and Maxwell Rush; two great-grandchildren, Raven Bentz and Riley Bentz; her siblings, Carolyn Carson, Shirley Fieser, Larue Shaffer, Lavonne Wishard, Geraldine Shockey, Richard Bricker, and Kathleen Woodring, all of Waynesboro; and a number of nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by one infant son, Dwayne Rush; and her siblings, Junior Bricker, Lorraine Socks, Mary Mohn, Betty Barnhart, Dorse Bricker, Robert Bricker.
Services will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, Jan. 23, 2015, in Grove-Bowersox Funeral Home, 50 S. Broad St., Waynesboro, with Matthew Hurley officiating. Burial will follow in Mount Zion Cemetery, near Quincy, Pennsylvania.
The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday evening, in the funeral home.
