Frank C. Guenther was born July 6, 1876 at Columbus, Wis., son of Gustavus and Mary Guenther. The Guenther family moved to Brandon Township, Douglas County, when Frank was a young boy. On October 1st, 1901 he was united in marriage to Celia Wilm at Our Lady of Seven Dolors church at Millerville. After their marriage, Mr. and Mrs. Guenther farmed in Leaf Valley township until their retirement from farming in 1943 when they moved to Alexandria. For the past eighteen months, Mr. Guenther has been a resident of the Bethany Home in Alexandria. Mr. Guenther passed away on Tuesday, August 15th, 1961 at the age of 85 years, 1 month and 9 days. Surviving are seven children: Frank Jr. of Havre, Mont.; Clara (Mrs. Herman Patzwald) and Theodore of Alexandria; Harvey and Leo of Leaf Valley; Adeline (Mrs. Ben Barnack) and Hildegarde (Mrs. Olaf Ziegelman) of Alexandria. He is also survived by 26 grandchildren and 31 great grandchildren and four sisters: Mrs. Minnie Thennis of Gilbord, Mont.; Mrs. Frances Stotlar of Grand Dot, Colo.; Mrs. Mary Zwack of Moorhead, and Mrs. Anna Davis of Brandon; also three brothers: Gustavus of Waubun, Andrew and Rudolph of Brandon. He was preceded in death by his wife and three sisters.
