Jacob was born in Bergdorf, Moldova, on November 11, 1906 to Chris and Elizabeth (Weber) Stickelmeyer. He came to America on the ship SS Pretorian leaving Liverpool, England on January 29. 1909. He was only 3 years old coming over with dad Chris, mom Elizabeth and younger brother Adam. They arrived on February 8, 1909 in Halifax, Nova Scotia, Canada. Finally taking a train to North Dakota. He grew up with 4 brothers, John, Adam, Walter and Leslie and 3 sisters Lydia, Amelia (Emma) and Alice. On September 19, 1927 he married Mary "Eva" DeVolve in Clay County, Minnesota. They had 10 children, 6 boys Leonard, Jake, Melvin, Duane, Wallace and Floyd, and 4 girls Darlene, Charlotte, Vyonda and Peggy. After living in North Dakota, they moved to Spokane,Wa. Living at N 107 Cook most of his life. He was a carpenter by trade. He enjoyed visiting with all the relatives. He passed away on October 5, 1981 in Spokane, Wa.
