Kingston - Laurie Pooley Banks, 80, Kingston, died Saturday, Jan. 25, 1992 in Fundy Villa, Berwick. Born in Torbrook Mines, Annapolis County, he was a son of the late Norris and Florence (Pooley) Banks. He was a veteran of the Second World War and a retired electrician from HMC Dockyard, Halifax. He is survived by five sisters, Mrs. Maude Keddy, Melvern Square; Mrs. Jessie Coleman, Kentville; Florence (Mrs. Perley Bruce), Kingston; Mrs. Grace Zampaloni, Welland, Ont.; Laura (Mrs. Philip Johnson), Torbrook Mines; a brother, Robie, Torbrook Mines. He was predeceased by his wife, the former Elsie Banks; a sister Myrna; a brother, Willis. The body rested in Warren T. Roop's Funeral Home, Middleton, where funeral was held Monday, Jan. 27, Rev. Joy Noble officiating, with burial in Torbrook Mines Cemetery. Donations may be made to Torbrook Mines United Church.
