Rev. Willis Phillips, a devout Baptist minister and one of the oldest and most highly respected citizens of Wharton Creek Township, died Monday night after a lingering illness of pulmonary consumption. Interment was made in Wharton cemetery, funeral services being conducted by Rev. J.B. Presley, followed by the burial ceremony of the Odd Fellows fraternity.
