John was a member of the Foe No 1243. He died 1 May 2002 in Lake Winona Manor and is buried in Bush Cemetery, Ridgeway with several other members of his family. John never married.
He was survived by a brother, Robert (Beverly) Babler of Winona; sisters. Mary Ann (Wilford) Wilson of Twin Bluffs, MN, Ada (Clarence) Wilson of Clinton, IA, and Anna (Helmer) Thompson of Caledonia, MN; several nieces and nephews.
John was preceded in death by his parents; seven brothers: Ralph, Albert, William, Richard and Matthew Babler, Charles and Henry Hanson.
