Zelma Byrd
Zelma Rose Ashcraft Byrd, 87, of 3 Malcomb Street, died May 10, 1995, at Davis Life Care Center.
Born July 13, 1907, at Sweet Home (Grant County), she was a daughter of the late Henry and Fannie Ashcraft.
She received her early education at Prattsville and was a homemaker.
She was a member of Sweet Home Missionary Baptist Church.
She was preceded in death by her husband, John W. Byrd.
Survivors include three daughters, Mary Sue Mathis of Pine Bluff, Ercelle Parker of Poyen (Grant County), and Mildred Keesee of Abbyville, Alabama; nine grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren and a great-great-grandchild.
Graveside services are scheduled for 2 PM Thursday in Philadelphia Cemetery at Prattsville with the Rev. William Ashcraft and Paul Sterrett officiating. Arrangements are by Ralph Robinson & Son Mortuary.
