Homer H. Ashcraft, 76 of Sheridan, AR, died Wednesday morning, May 19, 1971, at the Veterans Administration Hospital here.

He was a retired rural mail carrier and a veteran of World War I. He was also a public school teacher, a 32nd degree Mason and secretary of the Sheridan Masonic Lodge for 33 years. Mr. Ashcraft was a deacon of the First Landmark Missionary Baptist Church of Sheridan and a Sunday school teacher for a number of years. He was a charter member of Finis-Gallion Post 30 of the American Legion.

Survivors include; his wife Mrs. Dolly Carter Ashcraft; a son William H. Ashcraft of Sheridan; a brother W. E. Ashcraft of Malvern; four sisters; Mrs Lucy Stuckey of Conway, Mrs. Zelma Byrd of Poyen and Mrs. Cora Gilkeyson and Mrs. Alice Pumphrey, both of Sheridan and a grandson.

Funeral services will be at 2 PM Friday at the Landmark Missionary Baptist Church of Sheridan by Reverend C. N. Glover and Reverend Coyle Kelly. Burial bill be in Lost Creek Cemetery in Sheridan, AR by Buie Funeral Home.
