Kathleen Adams Jeffries

Kathleen Adams Jeffries, aged 86, of Mitchell went to be with the Lord at 6:10 am Friday, October 17, 2014 with her husband and children by her side.

She was born December 28, 1928 in Ramsey, Illinois to Leo and Hazel Adams.

Kathleen married Willard Herschel Jeffries February 22, 1955. She worked briefly in St. Louis before marriage and also as a Cashier at Louden's Grocery in Bedford. She was a homemaker and a devoted Christian, and attended Southland Church of Christ where she served as Sunday school teacher, in benevolence and in missions for many years. She enjoyed volunteering at Spring Mill Bible Camp in Mitchell for years, as well. She loved to write letters to the editor and stories about her family and her life. In 1989 she was a member of a local writing group with a published story in "Let's Write About It: The Indiana Experience". She was intelligent and witty and had a great sense of humor.

She was the beloved wife of her surviving husband of 60 years Willard Jeffries, and loving mother to her three children, Calvin Jeffries, Diana Daggy and Karen Espenant.

She is survived by one sister, Jane Marie Flake, and one brother, Steve Adams; also grandchildren: Nikolas Jeffries, Vanessa and Carmen Scuito, Nathaniel and Amber Jeffries,
Tristan Jeffries, Arthur and Sarah Helton, Mary and Danny Curtis, Patrick Brown, Billy and Daniel Daggy, as well as great-grandchildren: Draezen Helton, Kristopher, Lucas and Sean Jeffries, Adain Jeffries, Courtney, and Tyler Scuito, and several in-laws, nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents, two sisters, Violet J. Cantril and Mary Etta Adams, and four brothers, Joe E. Adams Sr., James Russell Adams, Larry Lee Adams, Sr., and William Raymond ("Billy") Adams.

Funeral Information
Visitation will be held at Day and Carter Mortuary Monday, October 20, 2014 from 12:00 to 2:00 pm.

Family and friends will then adjourn in processional to Cresthaven Chapel of Peace for memorial service at 2:30 pm.
