MITCHELL Joe E. Adams Sr., 59, Mitchell, died Wednesday at Bedford Regional Medical Center.
Born in Ramsey, Ill., he was the son of Leo J. and Hazel (McDaniel) Adams. He married Brenda Craig and she survives.
He was an Army veteran, an employee with Bedford Recycling and was an accomplished songwriter and musician.
Surviving with his wife are two sons: Joe E. Adams Jr. of Williams and Michael S. Adams of Bedford; two stepsons: Christian J. Simmons of Mitchell and Jason E. Reed of Bedford; three brothers: James R. Adams of Ramsey, Ill., Larry L. Adams and Steve Adams, both of Phoenix, Ariz.; four sisters: Kathleen Jeffries of Wyoming, Violet Cantrill of Nashville, Tenn., Maryetta Adams and Jane Marie Flake, both of Decatur, Ill; former wife, Janna (Sharpe) Adams of Williams; and two grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents and one brother, Billy Ray Adams.
Services will be 10 a.m. Saturday at Cresthaven Funeral Home, Bedford, with the Rev. Leonard Sankey officiating. Burial will follow in Cresthaven Memory Garden.
