John J. Lang, 87, 217 E. 12th, died Monday, Feb. 4, at St. Anthony Hospital. He was born Oct. 16, 1897 at Victoria to Jacob and Anna (Schumacher) Lang.

He was a retired chiropractor. He was a member of the St. Joseph Catholic Church.

He married Margaret Scheonberger on May 8, 1917 at Ellis. She died June 12, 1953.

Survivors include a son, Frank, Scottsdale, Ariz.; five daughters, Pauline Doerfler, Liberal, Lorraine Uttecht, Yuba City, Calif., and Anna Dreiling, Jo Ann Brown and Rita Weigel, all of Hays; a brother, Clem, Great Bend; five sisters, Lydia McMullen, Plainville, Sue Debes, Ness City, Mary Younger, Kansas City, Mo., and Helen Younger and Katie Engstrand, both of Ellis; 32 grandchildren; 48 great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren.

Services will be at 10 a.m. Thursday at St. Joseph Catholic Church, with Fathers Earl Meyer and Felix Petrovsky officiating; burial will be in the church cemetery.
