Mary F. Younger, 89, Overland Park, Kan., died July 30, 2000, at St. Joseph Hospital, Kansas City. She was born May 30, 1911, in Ellis, Kan., a daughter of Jacob and Anna Schumacher Lang.
She was married Oct. 17, 1932, to William S. Younger, who died Oct. 31, 1968.
She attended St. Mary's Parochial School, Ellis, Kan. A homemaker and housekeeper, she was a member of Cure 'D' Ars Catholic Church, Leawood, Kan., Daughters of Isabella, Park, Kan., and Christian Mothers, Grainfield, Kan.
Survivors include: three sons, William Younger, Overland Park, Kan., Vern Younger, Columbus, Neb., and Gary Younger, Olathe, Kan.; two daughters, Paula Mitchell, Lee's Summit, and Elaine Kraft, Jefferson City; three sisters, Sue Debes, Ness City, Kan., Lydia McMullen, Plainville, Kan., and Katie Engstrand, Ellis, Kan.; 13 grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in deathy by one son, Lawrence Younger, who died Aug. 1, 1999, and one grandson.
Services will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Park, Kan. The Rev. Mark Berland and the Rev. August Moeder will officiate. Burial will be at Sacred Heart Catholic Cemetery, Park, Kan. Visitation will be from 5-7:30 p.m. today at Schmitt Funeral Home, Quinter, Kan., with a vigil service at 7:30 p.m. Memorials are suggested to the American Heart Association or to Masses.
