Lindsborg -- Pauline M. Doerfler, 86, died Jan. 9, 2006, at Lindsborg Community Hospital.

She was born March 18, 1919, in Ellis, the daughter of John J. and Margaret Schoenberger Lang.

In 1957, she moved from Great Bend to Liberal and in February of 2003, moved to Bethany Home in Lindsborg. She was a homemaker. She belonged to St. Anthony Catholic Church and Altar Society, both in Liberal, was lifetime member of both American Legion Auxiliary and Veterans of Foreign Wars Auxiliary.

On May 5, 1939, she married Alexander Doerfler in Hays. He died April 19, 1981.

Survivors include: six daughters, Betty Lash, Maize, Diana Flores, Salina, Geraldine Hudspeth, Oklahoma City, Debra L. Brooks, Gypsum, Lily Pointer, Grandview, Mo., and Becky Doerfler, Derby; a brother, Francis Lang, Arizona; three sisters, Joann Brown and Rita Weigel, both of Hays, and Loraine Uttecht, Yuba City, Calif.; 16 grandchildren; 21 great-grandchildren; and four great-great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by two sons, James Alexander and Thomas Leon Doerfler; three brothers; and three sisters.

Vigil and Rosary will be at 7 p.m. Thursday at St. Anthony Catholic Church, Liberal. Funeral Mass will be at 10:30 a.m. Friday at the church, with Father Mike McAndrew presiding. Visitation will be from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Thursday at Kitch-Brenneman Funeral Home, Liberal. Burial will be in Liberal Cemetery.

Memorials may be sent to Bethany Home, Lindsborg, in care of the funeral home.
