The funeral of George Stephens, 22, son of Mr. and Mrs. Otto Stephens, was held in the Salem Evangelical and Reformed Church of which he was a member, Wednesday afternoon with the Reverand Edwin Mayer officiating.
Stephens met a tragic death in a motorcycle accident near Chicago Heights (Illinois) early Sunday. He was employed by the Dye Heating and Plumbing Co. of LaPorte (Indiana).
He was a member of the American Motorcycle Association, LaPorte, the Ramblers Motorcycle Club and Modern Woodmen.
He is survived by his parents, one brother Charles, and four sisters, Mrs. Alice Cromey, Mrs. Mary Ruth Kimball, Mrs. Flaude Warner and Miss Charlotte Stephens.
